Page 8 Aircraft Incidents in Southern Wales 1945

05/03/1945	[Logged as "SM355" which is incorrect]	Spitire	Operated by 66 Sqdn/Fairwood Common Aircraft ditched after engine failure 4.5 miles off Worms Head. Around 1994 the Sqdn did base themselves in South Wales but by the time of this incident the unit had disbanded. This does put the information as questionable in so far as the serial is incorrect at least.
08/07/1945	KH183	Liberator VIII	Aircraft crashed onto farm building near Emlych Farm/St Davids [R.I.P].
08/08/1945	HP143	Martinet TT.1	Operated by No.1 [Armament Practise Camp/R.A.F Fairwood Common Aircraft suffered engine failure and made emergency landing at Hunts Farm/Gower and sustained some damage. Presumably repaired and later successfully flown out.[3rd aircraft to force land at this Farm!].
19/12/1945	RH123	Queen Martinet TT.1	Unit operator not known Two aircraft in formation of which this aircraft ditched off following a fuel problem near Langland Bay whilst routing Reading to R.A.F Manorbier.
19/12/1945	RH125	Queen Martinet TT.1	Unit operator not known This was the other aircraft in the formation with RH123 [see above] and this had to make a forced landing near Bridgend with a similar fuel problem.

1961 Rhoose

G-ARCH Cessna 310D Airworks Services; G-ARDC Cessna 210; G-APYA Cessna 175A; G-APVS Cessna 170B all for demonstration flying - possibly to Royal Worcester Ceramics who went on to own G-ARWO. At the time 'PVS was owned by local celebrity Stan Stennett who exchanged it for B.35 Bonanza G-APTY in March '61 an aircraft in which I had the pleasure of getting a 30min jolly along the coast to Porthcawl & back in the Spring of '63
