08/01/1943X???? Beaufighter Mk.VIF Operated by No.125 Sqdn/R.A.F Fairwood Common, whilst operating a night training flight, crew diverted to R.A.F Colerne due to engine problem. Aircraft returned to Swansea the next day.

Aircraft stalled and crashed into Clyne Valley. The aircraft disintegrated and burst into flame on impact.

Aircraft landing from night flying, the aircraft swung off the runway and undercarriage was damaged.
13/01/1943 DD299 Mosquito NF.11 Operated by 3 Ferry Pilot Pool Air Transport Auxiliary/(R.A.F Hawarden). Whilst on ferry flight and delivery to R.A.F Valley whist landing at R.A.F St Athan, the aircraft landing had an undercarriage collapse. The probable cause was a defect in hydraulic system which prevented undercarriage from locking down.
15/01/1943 X8134 Beaufighter Mk.VIF Operated by No.125 Sqdn/R.A.F Fairwood Common,.
Took off for Day Defensive patrol but at approx at 15:30 hrs Pilot called Op's informing them that he was in the vicinity of the Smalls and that one engine had out. Both baled out but sadly killed. [RIP]
16/01/1943 P8396 Spitfire II Operated by No.53 O.T.U/R.A.F Llandow. 
Spitfire P8396 'Bermuda II' collided with Spitfire X4067 'Hissar II' piloted by Sgt G.A Kemp, while in formation over Cross Farm, St Hilary, Cowbridge, Glamorgan, on 16th January 1943. Pilot of Spitfire P8396 killed.[R.I.P].

Spitfire P8396 'Bermuda II' collided with Spitfire X4067 'Hissar II' while in formation over Cross Farm, St Hilary, Cowbridge, Glamorgan
26/01/1943 R6924 Spitfire II Operated by No.53 O.T.U/R.A.F Llandow.
Pilot had to find an airfield quickly as his fuel was diminishing due poor weather and gained a radio fix from the beacon at RAF Fairwood Common. He started to overshoot but the Spitfire began to swing off the runway and hit a stationary steamroller at the end of the runway. Pilot sadly killed [R.I.P]  Aircraft as SoC and scrapped at the foundry at Bynea.
27/01/1943 x3936 Wellington III Operated by No.115 Sqdn/ RAF Wretham. Folowing a mission, the aircraft had lost its compass and found itself short of fuel near the Bristol Channel/Severn bridge area. Aircraft abandoned and crashed in River Wye near Bigsweir Bridge.
29/01/1943 AM913 B-24 Liberator Operated by 511 Sqdn/R.A.F Lyneham.
On final approach to R.A.F Talbenny Pembrokeshire, the pilot lost control of the aircraft as the result of an engine's explosion. Aircraft came down in a field few miles from the runway threshold. [R.I.P to those lost in accident]
06/02/1943 N3221 Spitfire 1 Operated by No.53 O.T.U/R.A.F Llandow.
The Spitfire broke up in the air during local training. It may have touched the ground while low flying, before climbing away and disintegrating. Wreckage was widely scattered and pieces were recorded found in fields below Pendoylan.

Run out of fuel it and landed wheels-up nearby to R.A.F  Stormy Down airfield Aircraft repaired
09/02/1943 P8447 Spitfire 1 Operated by No.53 O.T.U/R.A.F Llandow.
Spitfire was destroyed when it struck a tree and crashed on Gowley Farm near Llancarfan. The pilot was killed.[R.I.P]
15/02/1943 X4067 Spitfire I Operated by No.53 O.T.U/R.A.F Llandow.
after a mid-air collision with Spitfire Mk II P7822 during a practice formation flight. Crashed into the sea about one mile off St Athan

16/02/1943 U5+FM DO.217E Operated by Staffel 4./KG 2 Luftwaffe/Eindhoven.
On a mission the aircraft whilst over Swansea, it was intercepted by Beaufighters from 125 Squadron and shot down. It crashed in Port Eynon bay [R.I.P].
26/02/1943 X7890 Beaufighter VIF Operated by No.125 Sqdn/R.A.F Fairwood Common. Crashed at Werganrows Farm, Blackhills Lane, Upper Killay, just outside the perimeter of RAF Fairwood Common [R.I.P]
09/03/1943 X4590 Spitfire I Operated by No.53 O.T.U/R.A.F Llandow.
while taxiing the aircraft for take off, collided with a road roller on the runway damaging the aircraft.
27/03/1943 X4773 Spitfire I Operated by No.53 O.T.U/R.A.F Llandow.
The aircraft dived out of formation from high altitude (25,000 ft reported - oxygen starvation) and dived into ground near The Greendown Inn, St Georges Super Ely near Cardiff.
28/03/1943 K9862 Spitfire I Operated by No.53 O.T.U/R.A.F Llandow.
Collided with K9850 and crashed onto Pant-yn-Awel farm to the north of the village of R.A.F St Athan

Collided with K9862 and crashed onto Flemingston Court farm to the north of the village of R.A.F St Athan

Aircraft was damaged beyond repair when it struck a pole during a forced landing when low on fuel in fog, near Old Wallace Farm, Wenvoe

Spitfire P7378 was making an emergency landing at RAF Station Llandow when it struck Spitfire P8641 which was waiting to take-off. Both Spitfires burst into flames and both pilots were killed

stalled at 6000ft and pilot glided to R.A.F Llandow. Without hydraulic power he carried out a wheels up landing. Initially she was for repair she was re-cat’ to E on the 28th and written off going for spares

Abandoned in sea off Tenby/Pembrokeshire after becoming lost on return from raid.

The aircraft hit the ground trying to recover from a dive ½ mile west of Aberceredin School, Adare Street, Gilfach Goch, Glamorgan [R.I.P]

Ditched off St Anne's Head,Pembrokeshire after suffering engine failure
11/05/1943 Z6348 Blenheim IV Operated by No.1 AGS/R.A.F Pembrey.
It was still in the take-off phase when it plunged into the ground at Pant-Teg farm nearly a mile Northeast of the station, killing all four on board [R.I.P].
13/05/1943 HH253 Hotspur II Operated by No.5 G.T.S/R.A.F Shobden.
Glider being towed by Miles Master from RAF Shobdon when the tow rope broke and flung back into a wing.
Just as he cleared the trees that stood lay at the head of this field a sudden thermal caused the glider to drop suddenly and hit the treetops on Llandew Farm. The glider, however, was damaged beyond repair.

Aircraft dived vertically into Turner's Farm, known at the time as Morris Farm, Sketty, Swansea. [R.I.P]
17/05/1943 JM244 Beaufighter Mk.XIC Operated by No.304 Ferry Sqdn/R.A.F Port Ellen.  Flight appears to have en route to RAF St Athan for fitting of equipment. Two local pilots buzzed family houses but sadly the aircraft crashed into the ground at Highfield in Ferndale.
28/05/1943 AL750 Boston Mk.III  Operated by No.307 Ferry Unit/R.A.F ???.
Whilst landing with port engine unserviceable. overshot and turned to port presumably to make a second approach but dived into the ground from 100 feet near Hoaton, one mile from RAF Talbenny, Wales. [RIP]
21/09/1943 LT888 Anson Operated by No.7A.G.S/R.A.F Stormy Down.
collided with Lysander III and crashed 1/4 mile NNW of Stormy Down
