On 15th September 1941 Spitfire I N3178 of 53 OTU crashed in a forced landing at Llandow.
On 15th September 1942 Spitfire I P9322 of 53 OTU broke up in midair and crashed on Cardiff Golf Course, Llanishen, Cardiff
On 15th September 1945 Master II DL360 of 1 APS had its undercarriage retracted in error on the ground at Fairwood Common. It was not repaired and was SoC on 24/10/45.
On 15th September 1951 Harvard T2B KF937 of CFS crashed at St.Athan during the Battle of Britain Display. The a/c began a spin at 2500' and stopped at about 800' from where it went into a steep dive to 300' when recovery action was started. However insufficient height remained to effect a successful recovery and the a/c mushed into the ground.
