EVENTS for 18th September

On 18th September 1949 Spitfire F22 PK403 of 614 Sqn landed heavily and bounced at Llandow causing the undercarriage to collapse. The airspeed indicator was not giving accurate readings causing the pilot to misjudge the landing speed.
