On 26th July 1936 Shorts S.16 Scion 2 G-ADDT (c/n S.790) of Pobjoy Airmotors and Aircraft, Rochester, Kent hit telephone wires and crashed at Porthcawl, the pilot, Richard F. Robinson, was injured and 5 passengers slightly hurt. The a/c was used by Campbell Black's 'British Empire Air Display', marked "Gaumont British News"
