Rhoose Airport in the 60's - [4] The International Air Rally 3rd/4th June 1960

3rd June
London to Cardiff Air Race from White Waltham to Rhoose. S.55 RAF on air rescue attendance.
The race was won by J Stewart in Auster 5 c/n 1097 G-AIKE (extant, stored dismantled near Newark)

4th June
National Air Races
Air League Challenge CUP
Norton Griffith Trophy
D.H. Tiger Moth Trophy
Display included eleven 111Sqn Hunters and gliding by Olympia
