On 2nd May 1941 Battle I V1211 of 7 BGS crashed on approach to the drogue dropping area at Kenfig.
On 2nd May 1942 Spitfire Vb's BL231 & BL470 of 312 Sqn collided soon after take-off 1 mile South of Fairwood Common. BL231 managed a crash landing but BL470 crashed.
