On 16th February 1942 Blenheim IV Z6187 of 254 Sqn became lost, flew into the ground on an overshoot in bad weather at RAF Pembrey, and burned out.
On 16th February 1946 Tempest V NV787 of 1 Armament Practice Station crashed near RAF St.Athan. The engine was giving trouble in flight and the pilot elected to return to base for an emergency landing. However the airfield could not be reached and he attempted to force land in a wooded valley. The aircraft struck a tree and was destroyed, killing the pilot, Wing Commander A Eyre DFC.
