EVENTS for 5th May

On 5th May 1947 Martinet TT.1 HP200 of 595 Sqn suffered an undercarriage collapse on landing at Pembrey. The u/c had been causing problems during the flight but appeared to be down correctly to flying control despite the "three greens" not being illuminated.

On 5th May 1952 Meteor T.7 VZ643 of 607 Sqn crashed in Cardigan Bay. The pilot was on a flight from Ouston to Llandow but became lost and baled out over the sea but was unfortunately drowned.
